About Highline
Highline Power is building an AI-native category leader across power services.
Power infrastructure is entering a period of unprecedented investment driven by rising electricity demand, grid modernization and the infrastructure required to support AI. Yet many power-services businesses remain constrained by scarce skilled labor, fragmented systems and highly manual workflows. Highline is building AI-native operating systems to expand capacity, improve customer outcomes and help transform how the power-services industry operates.
We acquire strong services businesses and build AI-native operating systems that expand team capacity, improve customer outcomes and create new avenues for growth. Our engineers work directly alongside operators and frontline teams to build technology around the workflows, data and expert judgment that differentiate these businesses.
We are backed by committed institutional capital and are closing our first platform acquisitions now.
The role
You will join Highline’s founding team as one of its first hires, reporting to our Co-Founder and Head of Operations.
This is a zero-to-one operating role with significant ownership from day one. You will work directly with Highline’s founders and engineers, as well as the management teams of the businesses we acquire, to build our commercial engine, launch new growth initiatives, drive AI-enabled transformation and help establish how we operate our first platform.
You will own major workstreams, from launching strategic growth opportunities to building the commercial and operating capabilities required to scale them. As Highline grows, this role can expand into broader leadership across commercial strategy and business operations.
What you'll do
- Build the commercial growth engine: Strengthen prospect targeting, pipeline management, CRM discipline, sales enablement, conversion, renewals and account expansion to help our businesses win and grow more customers
- Launch and scale new growth initiatives: Develop and test customer-acquisition channels, cross-sell, new services, pricing and supplier strategies, from business case through execution
- Support AI-enabled transformation: Partner with frontline teams and engineers to identify high-value opportunities, support rollout and adoption and measure the resulting business impact
- Turn productivity gains into growth: Determine how capacity released through technology can be redeployed toward prospecting, customer expansion and higher-value work and measure the resulting commercial impact
- Help establish how we measure and run the business: Build the fact base, KPIs and operating cadence to understand performance, identify opportunities and turn insights into action
- Help build and integrate acquired businesses: Develop and execute integration plans, establish the systems and operating routines required to bring businesses onto the Highline model and codify a repeatable playbook
- Help scale Highline: Take on the highest-priority cross-functional problems as we expand across power services
What success looks like in the first 12 months
- A stronger commercial engine driving measurable improvement in customer acquisition, conversion, renewals and organic growth
- New growth initiatives launched and tested, with the most promising approaches ready to scale
- AI-enabled workflows deployed with measurable improvements in productivity, capacity or customer outcomes
- A common operating framework established across the initial platform, with a repeatable playbook that can scale across future acquisitions
What we're looking for
- 4–7 years of experience, ideally including 2+ years in management consulting, investment banking, private equity or a similar analytical role and 2+ years in an operating role at a high-growth technology company or similar environment
- A track record of taking ambiguous problems from zero to one, from defining the problem through implementation
- Strong commercial and analytical instincts and comfort with funnels, unit economics, retention, productivity and growth
- Comfort moving between strategy and execution, with a strong bias for action
- Executive presence and the ability to build trust across a range of stakeholders
- Strong judgment, high ownership and comfort operating with incomplete information
- AI tools are already integral to how you work
Nice to have
- Experience building or scaling a commercial engine in a services business
- M&A or post-merger integration experience
- Experience rolling out new technology or processes to distributed teams
What you'll get
- A chance to help build an AI-native leader in a critical industry, with equity and a path for continued growth and leadership as Highline scales
- A seat on the founding team from day one, with meaningful ownership over building Highline’s first platform, commercial engine and operating model
- Direct access to the founders, engineers and portfolio-company leaders, working on the highest-priority problems as the company grows
